We now offer A2 and A1 Printing @ the St Albans Campus. You can choose between Matte or Photo Gloss Paper. Colours and quality is amazing. You can supply your image via email or bring it in on your USB drive.

Google Docs, Google Scholar, Google Book Search

Overall I think that Google is a rapidly expanding company who will win over many of the markets. Google Docs is great, althought I believe it ain't a huge risk to Microsoft, it is still going to benefit the users. Especially since it is freeware.

Google Book Search and Google Scholar, are another two great items powered by Google. They are great, and are just another great version of an Online Library, simliarly to Ebscohost or Emerald. It offers users great range on books.

Do we need it?! - Of course we do, the more information we have access to, the smarter we are.

iGoogle is a service of Google, it is a customizable startpage much like Netvibes or My Yahoo! It was originally launched in May 2005 and since then it has a number of add ons. Its features include the capability to add web feeds and Google Gadgets similar to those found in Blogger.
You can create your own webpage in less then 30seconds and use it as you start page (homepage). It is a great way of having that Tailor made homepage.

This time I give Google two thumbs up.

I find delicious pretty good. Although all these sharing is getting a bit too much, its all about sharing profiles, information, friends, thoughts, links, pictures, videos, all we need is to share bank accounts and we are set to live the "un-Private life".

However I do think delicious is a great way of storing all your links and have access to them where ever you are, as it does get a bit frusutrating then when you switch computers, and you don't have the links handy that you may want to use.

Although, you can always do what I done, copy all your favourite links into an email, send it to urself, and store it, that way it never gets lost, and you have email access everywhere.

Library 2.0

Library 2.0 you can see as our current future outlook on Library Services. It's an innovative way, designed to collaborate with other interfaces such as Business 2.0 and Web 2.0, it all about sharing Ideas, books, thoughts, comments and mainly communication between users. It is user-centred designed, and is made to compfort the user and offer and easy-to-use service.

I think its great for the people that use it, however as expressed previously, I have a feeling its getting a bit too much of all the "sharing-my-life-with-everyone", as you can tell I'am already sharing my thoughts on this issue, and hence supporting this serivce :(

Wiked Wiki's

Wiki's another way of letting everyone else know, ohhh and control your info....

With Wiki's you can share information and let family and friends and maybe strangers edit your information. Simply create a Wiki (another sort of Web Page) with info about anything you want, and provide the URL to your loved ones, or not so loved ones, and they can read, share, and edit/add info on your page.

Since I do not have a Pet, and I dont know anyone that has one, well I do, but it doesnt mean that they would let me post up pics of their pets... and what could I really write about a pet that's not mine.... I have decided to post up on my little 'pet' which is my loved automobilia... :)

I have used the "WIKISPACES" to create my own Wiki, which is under the following url http://wikedspace.wikispaces.com/

There you'll find a resized picture of me car, and and some general specs about it.

Google Talk, MSN, Skype, and VOIP

These are all form of communication, used to interact with people. Most of them are Text based, and worth like an IRC client, the VOIP and Skype are one of the newly discovered once, offering direct voice communications over IP. This service can be used via a set of speakers or microphone connected to a PC or you may as well purchase a Skype Phone, or connect your existing phone to an VOIP capable modem and make regular phone calls at a fraction of a price, or even for free...

I find it hard to imagine that currently this service could be used within the Library. But in future may be, as this would require the University to change their over all phone system into a VOIP system, which I imagine is a huge project to undertake.
